I actually like steves donut a bit more but for small rooms live I stack them both. Review: Our drummers snare was loud in the mix... - While in studio, our drummers 13" snare drum was 12db louder in the kits mix. We didn't have time to mess with tape, new heads, etc. Pros: Overall the BFSD was a quick solution to bring the snare volume down in our mixes without asking our drummer to change how he played. Final sound was fatter, damper and level. Cons: Takes away "some" stick bounce back and if you like a "ring" to your tone you will loose that. We liked this full coverage with thumb tab over the donut version. ## Features - The BFSD was engineered to effortlessly transform any snare drum into your very own vintage beefy thumpy 70's-inspired big fat snare drum - Unlike gels and tape, BFSD lowers the fundamental pitch of the drum without any of the hassle - Simply placed on top of your existing snare skin, the custom blend of patented rubber and plastic instantly face-lifts your medium to high-pitched tuned snare drum and delivers that sought after authentic deep & warm tone we all know & love. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01290YG1M | | Best Sellers Rank | #32,312 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #35 in Drum Set Snare Drums | | Body Material | Plastic | | Brand | Big Fat Snare Drum | | Brand Name | Big Fat Snare Drum | | Color | Black, white | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 109 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00638317780911 | | Included Components | Snare | | Item Dimensions | 15 x 13 x 0.01 inches | | Item Type Name | Snare Drum Head | | Item Weight | 12 g | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 15 x 13 x 0.01 inches | | Manufacturer | Big Fat Snare Drum | | Material | Plastic,Rubber | | Model Name | ABFSD13 | | Model Number | BFSD13 | | Part Number | BFSD13 | | Sound Profile | Warm, bass-heavy | | UPC | 638317780911 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | N/a. | ## Product Details - **Color:** Black, white - **Brand:** Big Fat Snare Drum - **Material:** Plastic,Rubber - **Model Name:** ABFSD13 - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 15 x 13 x 0.01 inches ## Images ![Big Fat Snare Drum - The Original 13" - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51R-D28QD7L.jpg) ![Big Fat Snare Drum - The Original 13" - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51T5O6NbEnL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great snare dampener! *by M***S on October 5, 2025* This is the greatest drum dampener ever.
