The crank makes more noise than I would like but unless I'm needing to be quite it's not a problem. Lights are nice and bright, easy to use, and a good camo color. Haven't tried the solar yet since it's been raining but says it can charge by any light source. I like that it an clip on the outside of a pack to charge by the sun but not 5 seconds after I handed my boyfriend his he broke the clip. It was and easy fix, the pin came out and had to figure out how to get the clip back on the spring but works fine now. Overall, I'm happy with them and think they will serve us well. Just don't forget to follow the directions and crank once a month the keep battery to max usability. Full charge by solar in 40 hours, cranking depends on how fast you crank but don't go past 15 minutes per instructions.
