The other brands are pretty weak. These packets last long enough to really enjoy and the colors are brilliant. On New Years eve we all sat around a great camp fire and my son tossed 2 packets onto the fire. When the very vivid flames began our family members from young to old were stunned! I would roast marshmallows/hot dogs/whatever BEFORE using these. But I am not with the company and haven't read the MSDS, so it could technically be safe.
