## Description

Make your existing speakers wireless with Amphony's wireless speaker kit.

Review: Great! Two noteworthy topics, however... - Been installed for about 5 months now, works great for us, powering 2- 6” Pyle ceiling speakers in the kitchen & dining area, to spread the sound out from the main system in the living room. Couple of things: 1. the base and receiver are both powered with transformers and stay on all the time. Plenty of things in your house have transformers that stay plugged in & powered up continuously, but for this device, I wanted to power it down when not in use, to extend service life, etc. So I plugged the base transformer into the switched outlet on my a/v receiver. I do have to manually plug/unplug the receiver transformer in the laundry room, and there is a little “pop’ each time this happens, but not a big deal. 2. Pay attention to speaker connections with a home theater/subwoofer type system. To get the best, full-range sound, the inputs need to be full range, which may take some finagling (this is not the fault of the Amphony device however). Since our receiver has the 7 “small” speakers (the “size” of the connected speaker is selected internally by the receiver) and a subwoofer, and no full-range line or speaker-level output, I had to use a Y connection from subwoofer output ALONG WITH the speaker-level inputs from the front satellite speakers to the base unit to get a complete, full range sound sent to the receiving unit for the kitchen speakers. When I connected everything using just the “small” size front speakers, the kitchen speakers sounded thin and tinny. But now they sound awesome! Hope all that made sense, GL!
Review: Worked for a little while - Says the return period is 30 days. It worked great for a few months. Now no matter how many times I pair, unplug, replug, power on and off, turn the dials up and down, whatever, there is mostly static, even when the receiver is off. When it's on, I can sometimes hear the music very, very, faintly and it's overpowered by the static. I've got $100 worth of worthless plastic with some circuit boards inside. Don't be fooled.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: If two speakers require a minimum of 40w each, will this unit be enough to drive both speakers sufficiently or will there be issues at higher volumes?**
A: There are a lot of variables in that question, but in general, this amp should be alright. If your speakers have inefficient drivers it may get warm or even begin to clip at higher volume levels. In the end, keep your expectations realistic. This is not a high end 200 watt per channel, wired amp. I am running it for my rear stage on a Samsung Blue ray combo and it is plenty loud for a surround channel. Overall a good sounding alternative to running wires. Much better than cheaper models like the Rocketfish brand.

**Q: Do I need two receivers to enable a pair (two) of speakers wireless?**
A: No, one receiver can handle two speakers (mine enables the use of both rear speakers).

**Q: How long/thick is the power cord for the receiver? The outlet is 5ft below where I want to put the amp and I want to hide the cord in the corner.**
A: The power cord is around 5.9 feet long and the thickness is 3.5mmx1.5mm. So you should be good.

**Q: can you run this in your vehicle?**
A: Probably not. The receiver/amp requires 36 VDC which wouldn't normally be available in a vehicle(except maybe an electric car). You could probably rig a voltage regulator for the transmitter that only requires 7.5 VDC @ 1 amp.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked well for 4 years
*by E***Z on December 14, 2021*

I bought my first Amphony wireless speaker kit 5 years ago to connect my surround speakers and avoid running cables through walls & ceilings. The system was easy to install and the sound from my speakers was excellent. Unfortunately, several months ago the sound from my rear speakers started to break up. I tried all of the suggestions in the user manual to correct the problem which could be caused by interference. None of these solutions worked so I order a new kit. As soon as I replaced the transmitter, the problem was corrected, with no need to replace the amplifier. One possible cause of the failure was due to leaving the transmitter being plugged in all the time. As one Comment suggested, the transmitter can be plugged into the switched outlet on your receiver, if you have that option, to extend the life. My current Yamaha receiver does not have that option so I will try to unplug it manually when not in use.
