One simply cannot peruse this volume without suspecting one’s tea has been spiked with something from the Other Realm. The illustrations are, in a word, exquisite — as if the fae themselves posed patiently for their portraits (which, knowing their temperament, must have involved bribery, flattery, and perhaps a minor moonlit ritual). The Good Faeries pages flutter with charm, grace, and just the right amount of sparkle — ideal companions for your morning Earl Grey and existential dread. Meanwhile, the Bad Faeries section is delightfully naughty, full of the sorts of creatures who would absolutely knock over your gin, steal your left sock, and blame it on the dog.
