The bands are thinner than any that have come with my notebooks from other companies and they feel less durable overall. The bands are also much more elastic which let's the booklets slide around in the leather cover more easily than I would like. But this extra elasticity could be useful for someone with a booklet larger than 5x8. I would like the bands to be thicker and more robust (not much thicker but it would make a large difference) and to be less elastic so that the books cannot slide as easily around. Given the price and the fact that the bands do accomplish their intended purpose, I cannot give them a low score.
