They are very efficient at both flutter and frog kicks, and yes, they back up well too. The bungee heel and large loop make donning and doffing a snap. They are slightly positively buoyant which I really like. Much of my diving is shore dives in rivers and lakes with poor visibility. Gearing up is often done in the water and if I drop one I don’t have to spend much time looking for it. About the only negative I have about the fin is acceleration. It takes a couple of kicks to get up to speed but the top end is fast, very fast. As for size I use a Mares Triboot in 5mm size 12 with a hard sole. The chart recommends large, barely.
