I am 5 ft - 4 and a 1/2 and size 14 - 16 (smallish pear shape) and ordered a size 14 after reading other reviews. The coat is approx 1 inch from my knees and fits well elsewhere - even being generous on the top but I don't expect it to take too many thick layers. Thank you to the person who reviewed with the information the zip (one-way thank god!) started approx 8 inches form the bottom - this is correct and makes walking easier. Tried it this morning in the rain/snow and kept warm and dry.
