Very powerful motor, makes short work of thick walled tubing. I haven't cut any flat stock yet, so I have no input there. Like others have said, be wary of your background as it makes sparks aplenty. The tool-less wheel mount is also a plus. No need to worry about losing the wrench. Seems to hold the wheel very tightly. If you need a handy cutoff saw for occasional jobs or projects, I highly recommend this Makita saw! It’s designed for metal blades . It works great and save a ton of time **Q: Why does it only come with 3 "cushions" for the 4 feet?** A: I called Makita about this as my only came with 3 as well. This is part of the design. The 4th leg is by the dust shoot, where hot sparks fly through. It would only melt the rubber if one were there. Makes sense to me... and the machine seems plenty stable.
