These pads are wonderful. Color coded re 'grit'. I have 'sanded' acrylic...from rough to glass smooth. Aircraft and motorcycle windscreens made new again. Use wet or dry. A great product. The pads too are durable. I have refurbished bare aluminum on older motorcycle alloy wheels and trim bits also. Buffed out clear coat. Mr. Miller, I am thinking you will be very very pleased with these guys. DRR **Q: can you use this to polish fired copper&silver clay? i also want to polish base metals to a high shine.thx** A: I use them on Polymer Clay and they work extremely well!!! Ive never tried to polish anything else. For my polymer clay I start at the top and work my way down and the results are fabulous!!! **Q: Has anyone tried these on ATV fender plastic?** A: I don't see why they wouldn't work on any surface. They are used on wood pens and acrylic pens to smooth and polish. **Q: What grit are these pads?** A: There is a color -coded guide that comes with the set - and if you read the description in the Amazon listing the grits are listed! I have used Micromesh for years and tried a few of the cheaper brands and there's no comparison - these are the ONLY ones worth buying and I use them in my shop daily for everything from detail saind to corrosion removal to lacquer wet sanding. But as far as the grits go, unless they changed the grit color chart that comes with the set the grits are finer than than sandpaper grits - the old color chart had "green" as the "roughest", and noted as "600" - but it was more like 1500 wet-or-dry sandpaper. I noted the lkisting starts with 1500 now, so they may have changed the color codes to more closely match sandpaper. Regardlesss, these are the best abrasives money can buy. I still have the first set I bought about 18 years ago and while not *quite* as rough as when new they still work fine - just be sure to wash them out with a solvent compatible with what your sanding (maphtha and then water if sanding plastics, bare wood or metal) and they'll seemingly last forever.
