I use one of mine with unbalanced cables to route various instruments into different mixer inputs. Works well. **Q: Since this has stereo trs connections, to patch out to a 16 channel mixer, does an 8-trs to 16-ts snake work for l/r mono channels?** A: the question is unclear. "8-trs???" "trs to ts??????" but if you're trying to split 8 trs circuits to 16 mono ts circuits, then you need eight 'trs to ts' splitters. i can't draw a circuit on this forma but if you can read a circuit, find someone who can draw one for you. good luck. sorry not to have answered your question better. **Q: How does this compare with the behringer ultrapatch pro px3000?** A: Behringer switches are on top (Hard to get to when mounted in a rack) Samson's switches are on the front for easy access. **Q: Can I use this with an insert cable, and retain the cable's insert fubction?** A: That should still work ok.
