This one is junk!** A: Of course there is, the GE 15802. It turns my outdoor post lamp on and off perfectly. Easy to read and program. Piece of cake to program, and if there is an outage, it only looses whatever time the power is out, only needing to spin around to the correct time. The first timer we installed ended up not working very good, but we had another one. My husband installed it almost a year ago and it's working just fine. We set the time we want the light to come on and the time for the lights to turn out. Can't complain. **Q: Does it need a different front plate** A: No. The front plate on the timer goes over your existing wall plate. **Q: I loost the time indcator after I pull the dail off where can I geta replacement** A: Trash it because it's junk. Instead, I went to Target and bought a different type that's made by GE that lets me set the number of hours I want the light to be on. The front door light switch is one of four with a brass cover plate, so this unit easily adapts. In the garage, the plate has a switch and an outlet - again the unit adapts. So it's perfect for an older house. Easy to install.Once you get the hang of it - easy to program. If there is a power outage or the bulb(s) burn out, you have to re-program.
