Your bike wheel may already have a skewer on the rear wheel for quick release. That skewer can be changed with this one by following their (Kurt Kinetic) directions so that the possibility of the bike slipping off of the Kurt Kinetic trainer is eliminated. Last thing you want is to be going 30 to 40 miles an hour on your stationary set up and the wheel slips off the trainer you could crash into objects in the home and break them and could suffer an injury. **Q: Will this work for a bike lane trainer?** A: theoretically it should but not sure for that particular trainer. **Q: Will this fit rims/MTB 29" and 2.2" width tires?** A: I don't think so? Not sure. I bought it for my gravel bike (Specialized) which has disc brakes and I couldn't use it. The bike shop had to order a $40 one to work on it. **Q: I have a saris mag+ trainer and a mountain bike, can i use this so both things fit?** A: Sorry. I have only used these skewers on road bikes and the Kurt Kinetic trainer. I'm not familiar with the Saris mag+ trainer. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great *by on Reviewed in the United States January 17, 2023* Great fit, easy to install, workes great. Thought I was gonna need a complicated solution to use my indoor trainer, but this axle was an exact replacement. I had it installed and my bike fixed in the stationary trainer in 5 mins and it'll support outdoor rides with no mods. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect! *by on Reviewed in the United States January 30, 2024* I bought this to go with a bike trainer as the one on my road bike didn’t fit my actual trainer. It works really well! I would buy it again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Essential gear for the Kinetic trainers. *by on Reviewed in the United States February 21, 2013* I have a Kinetic trainer that I have been using with my road bike. My wife wanted to use the trainer with her smaller bike so I purchased a second skewer. The use of the Kinetic skewer makes it MUCH easier and quicker to swap bikes out. This skewer is perfectly shaped to work with the trainer. Sure - I could just leave my wife's plastic-tipped skewer on her bike and manhandle it into the trainer, but why bother. For a few bucks I have a superior-quality skewer that is suitable for the road AND the trainer.Installation takes seconds. You will not have to remove your chain, mess around with gears, etc. You simply remove the left side nut from the rear skewer, slide the skewer off from the right side, push the new one through the same hole, and tighten the new cap. That's it. No muss, no fuss.I have taken my bike out on the street a couple of times since I installed the Kinetic skewer and can promise you it works just as well as the standard model that came with my bike. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ae/products/311830-kinetic-by-kurt-rear-skewer-for-trainer](https://www.desertcart.ae/products/311830-kinetic-by-kurt-rear-skewer-for-trainer) --- *Product available on Desertcart United Arab Emirates* *Store origin: AE* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
