It was a little confusing to play at first, but did a few rounds and we were off and playing. It is great for my son and I to play. He was 11 at the time. This is also a portable game. It is a quick game that can be played at a restaurant waiting for dinner to be served, gets family of phones and talk. The sets are inter-playable so we got this set and the Pirate one. The whole family loves this challenging strategy game that is easy to learn and play. Similar to chess, it is easy for children to learn and play, but there is much more to the game as you start to recognize strategies. More advanced players will find it challenging to adapt to the different sets and strengths and weaknesses of the different sets.
