Or, you can apply your very own measurements if they don't correspond to the standard sizes as illustrated. This is a wonderfully comprehensive book. I am a novice sewer but was very eager to understand the cutting process and the magic of transforming 2D into 3D. The joining the dots process of recreating these blocks, allows one to understand the building blocks (no pun intended) of a pattern. The layout of the book is clear as are the instructions. A lot of work went into this book. Review: Great reference for intermediate/expert sewers. - This book is great! I can use it as a reference for making my own patterns. It tells where and what to measure for making different styles of garments. It covers a lot of information. By no means are the pattern formulas perfect though, i do think that you need some experience and intuition to know how to adjust them for better fit or adjust them for your purpose. Good for intermediate sewers. Pattern formulas only, no sewing or construction instructions.
