It's a very sweet forbidden romance (he's her camp counselor), with lots of emotion. I think this book captured the teenage dynamic perfectly. The relationships between the girls in the story, the boy and the girl, the girl and her parents, and among the counselors were all very realistic, and captured the emotions and angst of that age just right. It brought me back to a time in my life that was equally wonderful and horrible. The author also reminded me of the power of young love. The hero in this story is totally swoon-worthy, and is absolutely perfect for the heroine. Although all the girls fall for him, there's much more to him than meets the eye, and he finds what he's looking for in the girl who's different from all the rest. This book covers many topics, including changes in family dynamic (death of parents, step-families, etc.), and teenage bullying. It's very PG, and I think it would be a great book for younger girls, as well as their moms. :)P.S. When the title "clicks" in the story, I got chills! The author really delves into the life of a teenage girl who finds her perfectly happy life turned upside down where she feels alone and abandoned. Julia reluctantly attends summer camp and actually finds herself with new friends and a lot of time to herself to reflect on her life. With the help of new friends and a hot boy attraction Julia gets the courage to face some of her fears and insecurities. In this story Julia finds she needs her family and friends support to overcome her abandonment issues and feel alive and secure within herself and with this new found confidence she matures.
