## Description

Introductions: The Addicore nRF24L01 is a 2.4GHz ISM band transceiver. The transceiver consists of a fully integrated frequency synthesizer, a power amplifier, a crystal oscillator, a demodulator, modulator and enhanced ShockBurst, protocol engine. A host microcontroller can communicate and configure the nRF24L01+ over a 4-pin Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). The configuration registers are accessible through the SPI connection. Configurable parameters include frequency channel (125 selectable channels), output power, and data rate (data rates: 250kbps, 1Mbps, and 2Mbps). The module has 5V tolerant inputs which allows direct connection of SPI pins. Internal filtering results in high margins of meeting RF regulatory standards. The module's radio uses Gaussian Frequency-Shift Keying (GFSK) modulation as well as fast Automatic Gain Control (AGC). Have coded a way to accomplish task of remotely switching a battery, switching is by Async web server request. Request “control” variable, determine on/off option. “Control” variable selects one of two options. Each option has three tasks: task one, switches battery power, task two switches transceiver power mode, task three switches deep sleep state. Have not “field” tested project; tested with two multi-meter monitoring current of transceiver bus (only a pair of nRF24L01’s) checking voltages with the other multi-meter. Performs functions as coded; works well. Project is a work in progress. Pair of nRF24L01 current draw; transmitting is 30.4 mA in non-standby mode, 6.6 mA in Standby I mode measured with multi-meter. Transmissions will only be a very small fraction of a second. Couple of recommendations; identify ground pin using a multi-meter, purchase a nRF24L01 piggyback voltage adapter; allows use of five-volt power. Some boards have trouble supplying required transceiver current. Do not let early failures stop your project or ask to return defective transceivers. Fully explore reasons for failures. Review: Works Great as a Intruson Dection Monitor - I did not have any problems using these WIFI modules with my Arduino projects. I ran this as a "Master/Slave" with 4 Slaves connecting to 1 Master. My shop has a wired burglar alarm with multiple lights, strobes and loud alarm horns. I installed the Master "WIFI Module" in the shop and connected it to an un-used zone on the burglar alarm panel. I placed a slave transmitter with a "Motion Detection Module" in each of my remote buildings (4 Buildings Total) to trip the Master burglar alarm in the shop when motion is detected. If I need more security monitoring from any buildings or locations on my property I just build another Arduino project with WIFI and Motion Sensor modules. My property is about 2 acres total, the Master is mid way of the lot. I monitor the Well House (Located in the front yard), the boat house (Located in the back yard) and 2 storage buildings (Located in the same area of the Shop). Modern technology is great!!!

**Q: Has anyone attempted using a yagi antenna? what dbi are you using? i.e. 2.4ghz 25dbi wifi type?**
A: Yes, Any [wifi] 2.4ghz Yaggi will work. I have got near 2 miles LOS. I will also say I found using a "breakout board" helped overall performance - something like this - diymore 5pcs NRF24L01+ 8 pin Socket Breakout Adapter 3.3V Regulator Plate Board + Wireless Transceiver​ Module.
