Review: Great Resource - Kept this one after the course was over - Excellent book for the technician. The authors actually explain what a device does instead of the usual "...the majority carriers can be found..." gobbledygook most EE texts are filled with. Some folks are only interested in learning what a device does and how to implement it, not necessarily build one from scratch. A very good survey of technical devices and applications suitable for a freshman/sophmore course.

The only reason I bought this book is because it is required for my program. I've read many textbooks on different subjects in the past and this one is one of the worst. Its contents are dated( written in 2006 and was never revised). It has poor graphics and writing is subpar. The end of chapter questions are ridiculously convoluted. Update: I was compelled to come back and downgrade my previous rating from 2 stars down to a 1 star. For the price of the book(incredibly overpriced for the value it provides), I can not, with all honesty, give it more than a star.
