The recipient was very happy with the quality and coloring of the dice. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for large campaigns with curious players. *by H***T on June 30, 2021* As a Dungeon master I often feel conflicted. My players often want to ask about details for every town (or other setting) that they are in. These dice help alleveate some of the planning.Rather than trying to fabricate a character on the spot you can roll for some basic traits, namely race, job and quirck, as needed. Player asks what that orcs job is? Roll the dice and tell them what you see. Its incredibly helpful to have a non-biased source for information to avoid creating generic fantasy people (unless that is wanted). Now we can see situations where there is an unlucky elven blacksmith in town or a dwarf who is missing an arm for the town's librarian.The weather die is incredibly helpful. Rather than having consistent weather, the die can tell you the day to day forecast. However, this die might not be the best for settings with very consistent weather: Deserts are almost always hot and dry, Tundras are almost always going to have a bitter cold. Its up to you as the DM to use this correctly.There are thee dice in particular that can be helpful for running impromptu sessions. There is the dungeon die that tells you what sort of theme the dungeon has, a die to determine the surrounding terrain, and a die to determine what sort of treasure to give out.It would be great to see more things like this, maybe with different variations on the dice that this set already has. Things like a weather die specifically for the artic, out at sea, or at the tops of mountains, whos weathers will not quite fit into the weather die for this set.Overall fantastic tool for Dungeon Masters who struggle with coming up with unique ideas on the spot. I see myself lending these to newer Dungeon Masters to help them create scenarios and not overburden them with questions about details during their first few sessions. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent aide for scenarios, but could use improvements. *by S***E on May 2, 2024* These dice help a lot when trying to come up with various npcs/dungeon ideas when the other players stray from the storyline you've planned. The dice are colorful and large, which makes them easier to identify amongst all the other dice that are scattered across the table. (Fellow Dice Goblins Unite!)However there are some flaws regarding these dice.Firstly is the gold print. Now on a few of the dice, like the Red Race d6, the Blue Quirk d12, or the Green Class d12, the gold print pops and makes the icons easier to read and identify, however, on the Teal Dungeon d8, or the Orange Terrain 6d, the print is harder to see and the icons can easily be misread. More than once had there been confusion regarding which icon was rolled on these dice.Secondly, although these dice provide a nice relief to making certain unexpected decisions, there is no die to provide monster encounters. There is a dungeon theme die as well as treasure die, but what about the monsters that inhabit said dungeon and are guarding said treasure? I think this set would have greatly benefitted with a d8 (Or even d6) to provide encounters such as Evil Spellcasters, Bandits, Ghosts, Wild Beasts, Undead, Ooze, Trolls and or Dragons. Several times I've had to whack my brain to come up with encounters to fill the dungeons that the party should encounter whenever I had to make an unexpected dungeon adventure.Overall these dice are a Wonderful addition to any RPG campaign and I Strongly suggested getting a set so you have an option in case your parties decide to go off the beaten path.
