It works well and causes minimal mess. I will warn that it does occasionally not expell the pit from the cherry. Watch for that if you use your cherries whole. I like slicing mine in half anyway. With that in mind, this product made pitting cherries very easy and quick, just have a sturdy bowl on hand. It was also relatively easy to clean.
