I’ve noticed it’s really important to not let it steep too long - 3-4 mins is perfect, otherwise it gets very bitter and far less enjoyable, and to use just a touch less than you think. For 12 ounces of liquid, 4 to 4 1/2 grams or 1 to 1 1/2 heaping tablespoons of tea should make for an excellent brew. It depends if your prefer strong tea or weak and the flavor of the particular tea. It also depends on how you brew our tea leaves. I use a Bosch teamaker. When I brew tea for every 6 ounce cup I put in 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons in the pot. I press the buttons for black, green etc and there are options for medium and strong.
