It is a little bit too big for my 2.5 year old, by my 6 year old took to it amazingly well. She loved it so much she rode it at every opportunity, and then less than a month later, she got on a two wheeler and just rode it away with no problems. Now she is in love with the two wheeler and my 4 year old is riding away on this balance bike. A tool is required to lower and raise the handlebars, but the seat is incredibly easy to move up and down, so I could raise and lower as needed easily (for my 4 and 6 year olds). I am not an experienced tool person, but I put it together with no problems. It is light and small and easy to take anywhere. When he got this bike he really struggled with balance on the narrow tires....for about 10 minutes. He was very cautious until he found a very slight slope. I noticed he was putting his feet down less often and was actually riding instead of walking. Now he rides all over on it as fast as he can.
