Review: A complete whole house leak detection/water shutoff system - I had been looking for a system that would be able to detect water leaks and automatically stop the water flow. This system exceeded what I thought it would be available. Older systems could only detect a water leak at one location and shut off a single close by valve. This system allows for multiple detectors (I have fourteen detectors throughout the house, garage and crawlspace) and shutting off the water to the whole house when a leak is sensed. The installation was uncomplicated. Installing the valve operator is the only item that requires a slight bit of DIY skill - a wrench and a screwdriver. The setup of the hub, downloading the app to a smartphone and adding/linking the sensors and valve controller was straightforward. One can monitor the entire system via the app. It is worth noting that the YoLink system is expandable to a range of other sensors/controllers - e.g. garage door controller, motion sensors, window/door sensors, temperature sensors and more. The build quality is quite good, and the size of the detectors and the hub are small enough to be nonintrusive. I have recommended this system to several neighbors and relatives.
Review: Easy set-up, better than alternatives, and a fraction of what it can save you from water damage - Due to a water claim for the previous owners on our new home, we needed to add an automatic water shut off device to get insured. We didn't have have the ability to do invasive work on the plumbing and all the other products needed to be installed by a plumber or a very confident diy-er who was willing to gamble with something as high risk as the main water line whuch we were not comfortable working on. The last thing you want is to make a mistake on something like this. Due to this requirement we decided to purchase this product but were honestly happy to do so. Our minds are at ease knowing that if there's a leak this device will not only notify my where- depending on where I install the little sensors, but also shut the water off entirely. Smart controls are fantastic you can set automations and decide if you want to be notified or have it shut the water off automatically. What's also nice is that you can have it powered with regular batteries, so there's no need to deal with wires everywhere, or finding an outlet nearby, or water proof connections- which I also didn't have where my yo link is now located. I believe the battery can last up to 2 years but even if it's just 6 months I wouldn't have an issue with it seeing as how convenient this is, I can't complain whatsoever. Powerful little device, gives me peace of mind and with all the other housework I'm doing by myself, it's nice to ask Google to shut the water on or off to test what I need to when working on minor plumbing repairs. Price is great and it's more analog than other devices since it uses water sensors and manually shuts off the water, but it honestly gives me more peace of mind since we know if it's wet it's going to set off the automation or alarm without a doubt. If it's running low on battery you'll see it right on the app. Huge plus is that you can place these sensors anywhere! I'm planning on purchasing more to add to my garage in the future! You can't go wrong with this. Good quality, easy to use app, easy to install, integrates with my Google home ecosystem, sensors can be placed anywhere you want giving you full control. Comparable products can be $500+ and that's not even including install which would have ran us another $600 at best. Whether you need it for insurance or for peace of mind. Wet the floor and just like that all the water was shut off immediately. Sensor works by water either falling on it or water poolibg under it so it can be placed under sinks or areas where leaks can occur, or directly on the floor like in a bathroom! **Q: Is there something different about the controller here than the controller + Bulldog listing?  Bought separately with 7 sensors is $20 less currently.**
A: Check if it powered by batteries and adapture or just batteries

**Q: Will this work on a 2" Pipe?**
A: If you purchase the correct size one.

**Q: Does it come with the electrical plug in option?**
A: The yolink receiver that connects directly to the valve motor does plug into an ac outlet.  It can also work off regular alkaline batteries.  I use it plugged in, with the batteries working as backup in case power outtage.  As the leak sensors can pair directly to the receiver, it should work even if power and internet connection are lost.  - hope that helps

**Q: How do i make valve shut off work without wifi working? leak sensor does not trigger automation if the hub is offline even though it's all local comms**
A: The sensor signals the valve controller if it gets wet. Wifi helps with notifications and remote operation.

I had been looking for a system that would be able to detect water leaks and automatically stop the water flow. This system exceeded what I thought it would be available. This was an easy DIY install and gives peace of mind because it can automatically detect a water leak, send a notification, and close the main water valve to greatly reduce the risk of extensive damage to the home. By far the hardest part, and it was still easy, was installing the valve operator (see photo) onto the existing main water valve. Adding new devices, such as leak sensors, is simple as can be, just scan the QR code on the device using the YoLink app, press the power button, and it's connected, works every time with no glitches. All of the devices are either battery powered or have battery backup, so will protect your home even when there's a power or internet outage.
