## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is a good, specific resource for Oat Fiber recipes?**
A: Here is a link to a low carb forum....scroll through for various recipes and tips. http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/low-carb-recipe-help-suggestions/716186-oat-fiber-powder-flour.html I have also referred to Trim Healthy Mama book. I did not use this product while dieting, however after losing 150 pounds, I changed my eating habits to a low carb lifestyle and have been maintaining well for about 2 years. I've adapted some suggestions from Low Carb Friends, and also Ginny's Low Carb kitchen (can google for the site). If you google "oat fiber powder recipes" you will come across these websites and others. Once you start using it, you will find you start replacing portions of flour in your recipes with a combination of Oat Fiber Powder, Ground Flax Meal, ground Chia seed, and other high fiber low carb ingredients. As far as a one stop recipe source for oat fiber powder, I have yet to find one. Good luck, I hope these tips help.

**Q: does this smell and taste rancid (like nunatural)**
A: No mine did not have a smell, or odor like old wheat smells. also just taste it . a nd if it concerns you keep it in the refridgerator. . also ask the manufactor or processor for a date on the processing. good luck.

**Q: Can I use oat fiber to bread chicken for chicken parmesan? The recipe calls for bread crumbs. Can I just replace with oat fiber at a 1:1 ratio?**
A: I haven't tried this but I am reluctant to suggest it. I use a limited amount of oat fiber in my recipes and mix it with other flours.

**Q: Is this organic and non bleached GMO free ?**
A: Hello,Our oat fiber unfortunately is not organic nor bleached. It is however GMO free.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better price than others I saw.
*by S***M on November 27, 2016*

Takes some practice to get the hang of baking with this, but it's not really hard. I've found so far, that I can replace about 1/4 to 1/3 of other flours with this. Any more and it just falls apart, or doesn't have a good texture. Don't expect to swap cup for cup, but you can lower you're carbs a fair amount, and increase your fiber. Flavor is mild, not much difference in the taste of the final product. It works well in pancake batter, but you must use at least 1/2-2/3 of other flours to get good results. I used 1/3 cup oat flour, 1/3 cup wheat flour, 1/3 cup oat fiber, and added a couple of tsp. vital gluten to hold it together. Best to mix all the dry ingredients together first, before adding eggs or liquid.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bag opened

Great product. Mine arrived opened and I lost some of the oat fiber. :( However, that could have been a delivery issue.

### ⭐⭐ Yuck. Tastes like sawdust. No, really.
*by M***O on December 4, 2012*

I purchased this product and have tried it in a few recipes such as pancakes and brownies, as well as simply cooking it with oat bran. The strong sawdust-like taste is very difficult to mask. I've thrown out everything I've made with it so far because the flavor was just a bit too strong. This product is best used as only a very small fraction of whatever it is used in, but on the whole I would look to more palatable sources of fiber. For a better tasting fiber for bulky baked items, defatted coconut flour has a much better taste and having the ability to be used as a much, much greater proportion in a recipe.
