## Description

This Spears schedule 40 PVC union fitting has socket openings on both ends, and is suitable for connecting two pipes. The socket ends connect to pipes with a smooth bore for enhanced flow. The fitting has three pieces and includes a threaded connection that can be screwed or unscrewed to connect or disconnect pipes more easily than with couplings. It is made of white PVC (polyvinyl chloride) for chemical and corrosion resistance, high strength, and less weight than fittings made from metal, and has an EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) seal for resistance to oil, water, and some solvents. It is compatible with schedule 40 PVC pipes and fittings and is suitable for cold-water pressure distribution systems including irrigation, pool and spa, potable water, and chilled water applications. **Q: Do you have a cap that screws on to this when i remove my pvb for the winter?**
A: Did you ever find a cap for this.  I have found 1" PVC Caps but they don't appear to be able to fit this as they are not designed for socket fittings and instead designed for traditional screw on pipe cap ends.  I guess one idea would be to attach a 1" pipe with a threaded end to the slip piece and then just screw on the traditional cap to the treaded end of the pipe you installed.  Just seems like a lot of work.....my zip tie and shopping back method works just as well and is less work.

**Q: I lost the O-ring in one of these. What is the dimensions for a replacement?**
A: May just be easier to purchase a new union ,if you have installed the union just use the o ring from the new one

**Q: are both ends slip to be glued, not threaded?**
A: Both ends are slip.

**Q: what is the inside dimension, 1in pvc pipe?**
A: I measured it with calipers at 1 5/16”
