In my case, one piece was too thin and two were a little too thick to squeeze in against the weld on the hitch ball. Just took a utility knife and trimmed a bit off the inside circumference of the second silencer at a 45 degree angle, so that it fit right up against the weld and still stayed tight above the weld too. Trimming a little bit off didn’t affect the quality at all. Still solid, no more rattle and it looks the same from the outside. I’d recommend these for sure. Install?** A: I wasn't able to make them work. The space between the hitch and the receiver box was longer than the total depth of the 3 pads. It didn't work. I don't believe they would even if I had more of them. I ended up using the "CZC AUTO Hitch Tightener, Heavy Duty Anti-Rattle Stabilizer " which worked very well. It stopped the hitch from rattling inside the receiver box. Made a box difference. I towed a small U-Haul trailer from Dallas to Orlando and it worked great. **Q: Can I use this in conjunction with a hitch tightener silencer?** A: In Amazon and other places you can get a 3" to 2.5" to 2" reducer adapter. I believe that is what you need from your description. I would think it would be unsafe to use the tightener silencer as a reducer. **Q: Will it fit 2 1/2 hole** A: Yes if you have 2” Tow Mount it will fit **Q: This question is for art degroot. what and where do you find the plate and the hooks like in your set-up? thanks!!** A: Just by looking at the photo the hooks(from hitch pin to plate) look like massaged eye bolts. Prolly couple 3/8 eye bolts with at least a 1/2” eye and a piece of 1/4” plate. Make a cardboard templete and trace it out on the plate and cut with saw of your flavor. Sorry Art!
