But I felt like if I could help another high arch sufferer that went through months of leg pain, I'm writing a review. So I've had my Brooks Ghost 10 shoes for a few years. Ran in them a lot, lift weights in them, walk around the house in them, etc. However, I started getting really bad sciatica and leg pain for the past few months. So bad, I thought I had a blood clot in my leg. In any case, the doctor at the ER mentioned that I had really high arches. I never really thought of them as THAT high, but alas, I thought it was worth addressing. I found these on desertcart -- something made specifically for high arches and holy moley.... my world has been changed. While it took a day or two to get used to almost a lumber-like support in my shoe, my back and leg pain have gone. (Although I am doing some awesome daily stretching to help the sciatica, too). But it's like I have brand new shoes without having to spend $100+. They fit perfectly in my narrow size 8.5 Brooks Ghost 10 shoes. No trimming needed. Great support at the gym when lifting weights, too. If you are a high arch or sciatica sufferer -- give these a whirl. They are worth the $$$. Review: Love the comfort for the price. This says it's for people with a high arch. Why wouldn't it be right for a person with flat feet that is trying to improve their arches? Thanks.** A: You won't know til you try. I had been buying inserts supposedly for flat feet. I have extremely flat feet. My doctor sent me for physical therapy because of ankle pain. The therapist analyzed my gait and said I needed more arch support to correct my over pronation. I now use supports made for high arches and find I need the firm support. No more ankle pain. **Q: I have flat feet and usually use Superfeet green, but they are too expensive. Would this be a good alternative or are there better options for me?** A: I have a high arch and they give me the support I need, since I am on my feet all day long. I love them and will buy more for my other boots. Not sure if they will work for flat feet, but they really work for me. **Q: Do you need to remove your originial shoe insoles to use these?** A: Yes, I remove the soles that come with the shoes. I put them on top of new Sof Sole and trim with scissors for exact fit. **Q: Can I throw these through the washer? They are extremely smelly and dirty... baking soda isn't enough. They need a deep clean! Washer?** A: I've only hand washed these using Palmolive dishwashing detergent; but have had no problems doing that.
