**Q: Can it effectively reduce humidity in larger spaces?**
A: The E-500 covers up to 500 cubic feet (63 sq ft) per unit. For larger spaces, we recommend the Eva-Dry EDV-2400, which covers up to 2,400 cubic feet with a built-in humidistat.

**Q: Why do the indicator beads turn black or fail to change color?**
A: This is caused by exceeding the 16–18 hour renewal cycle. Over-charging permanently breaks down the indicator dye. The silica gel inside remains effective but the color indicator may no longer be reliable. Always set a timer when renewing.

**Q: Is it normal for the dehumidifier to become very hot during the renewal cycle?**
A: Yes — the internal heating element gets warm to hot during renewal. This is normal. Plug into a power strip, not directly into a wall outlet. Place on a heat-resistant surface in a well-ventilated area for the full 16–18 hour cycle.

**Q: What should I do if beads don't change after renewal?**
A: Unplug and cool to room temperature. Shake gently to redistribute the beads, then run a second full renewal cycle. If beads still don't change color after a second cycle, contact Eva-Dry support at eva-dry.com.

**Q: Does cold weather affect performance?**
A: In cold or dry climates, the dehumidification cycle may take longer as less moisture is available in the air. Allow a full 16–18 hour renewal cycle before redeploying in cold environments.

The moisture indicator beads on 4 out of 5 units failed and so don’t turn back from green to orange …… so it’s unclear when (if) the unit has dried out / is full. Absolute junk.
