The main game is simple. Someone is the master and knows the answer. People ask as many yes or no questions as possible in the time limit to come to the answer. But there is one hidden is with, the insider. The insider also knows the answer but not even the master knows who the insider is. The insider wants to guide the group to the answer without it being obvious that they are the insider. If the group doesn’t come to to answer in the time limit, everyone loses. If the group comes to the answer then two rounds of voting ensue. First, vote on the person who got the answer. If they are voted No and are not the insider, there is a discussion and a vote on who the insider is. If the person who guessed the answer and is voted that they are the insider and they are not, the insider wins. If they are the insider the insider loses. Simple as that. The game itself is easy to play. It’s better with 5+ people though. If you have three, the master basically has to decide which person is lying during the game, as there is only one insider and only one who isn’t. The Black edition of this game is basically the same as the red, but the words you have to guess are harder and the time goes quicker. This is not an expansion, it’s the base game but harder. CONS: has harder words to guess. Could be very difficult for younger people. (Try answering yes or no questions to get people to guess “History”, “Nuclear Energy” or “Tropical Beach” Doesn't expand the game, just gives a newer harder game. If you play with the same group a lot you learn to game the system by asking the right questions to narrow things down quickly. Can make the game boring if played frequently. PROS: great social game to get to know people, see how they interact Can be played very quickly. Each round takes at most 10 people Hidden identity games are among my favorite games to play. If you like a quick hidden identity game that you can play at parties or at the family dinner table this is your game. Fairly inexpensive. I feel like it could be slightly cheaper than what I paid for it, but I’ve never felt like I drastically overpaid for it. The elements are well made and have withstood the test of our small group at the local bar. Review: This is a gold game that allows a larger player count.
