Depending on depth of water, distance can be 20 to several hundred feet port or starboard **Q: Would the same wiring and transducer of a garmin striker 7sv work on this unit? Or would I have to rewire my boat?** A: No **Q: Does this unit with preloaded bluecharts g3 have gps?** A: yes **Q: Transducer cable length** A: I didn't measure it but it should be 25 feet long. On my 18' boat the cable reaches from the bow all the way back to the stern transom mount location with some extra length. The installation manual states "If your transducer cable is not long enough to reach the chartplotter, you can add an extension cable (Garmin part number 010-11617-42 or 010-11617-32, not included).
