Matt walker somehow manages to take a subject, which is moderately technical, sometimes mundane, and portray it in a way that is friendly, very readable, REALISTIC, and even interesting.Matt has a lot of jokes.. I thought most of them were incredibly cheesy, and I frequently found myself rolling my eyes and thinking “spare me the details”, BUT, I have to say it honestly aided in relief with the comprehension of the material. I do however, revel in his subtle jabs and disdain towards ECC against the appropriate curriculum and order of operations and terminology regarding real-life, present-day penetration testing.Just a forewarning.. Unless you have a photographic memory, or you already have a decent grasp on the subject, you’re probably going to want to read this more than once. There is so much technical detail in this book, I’ve wasted a few highlighters getting through it the first time.ALSO, if you are fortunate enough to have NOT signed up for ECC’s official training course/bootcamp, then feel lucky. It’s way too much material to cover inside a week, and ECC’s study materials are certifiably TRASH. If you want a handbook that consists of the SAME SLIDES you saw in bootcamp, with absolutely no explanation or foreground, then by all means, have at it. If you want a comprehensive analysis and real-world applications of the subject, then look no further than this book. So... even though Matt states that his book is not a “one stop shop” for covering everything you need to know for the exam, it is infact the basis, which is much more than the official ECC training could have prepared you for. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazingly written and relatable *by S***. on November 1, 2018* I recently started studying security and found that this book had rather good reviews as a CEH study guide. Matt does a fantastic job at making concepts relatable and humorous so that even a novice like me could keep going and not be intimidated by the material. I was in a time crunch so I didn't have time to practice with the tools he recommends, and I still got a 94/125. I'm sure it would have been a breeze if I had the luxury of more time. Now that CEHv10 is out, Matt will probably need to add a few more chapters in the next revision, but I can vouch for his quality of getting the information across. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was worried this would not fully prepare me for ... *by M***N on July 25, 2018* I was worried this would not fully prepare me for the CEH exam since v10 has been available for several months, but I sat for the exam last week and passed!
