I saw this item in a youtube video, and since it is so inexpensive, decided to try one. It's a game-changer for sewing over thick seams (e.g. when hemming jeans). It supports the presser foot to retain stitch tension while crossing over the hump, helping to keep the stitches even. I would highly recommend it for anyone who sews with heavy fabrics or multiple layers such as over a flat-felled seam.

I make bags and purses using canvas and often I have to walk my needle over the humps. Now I come up to a thick area. Lift my foot and slide it under from the back.
