Review: Exactly what I needed - I'm thinking this must be a fairly new product to the market because I was looking for exactly this a couple of years ago for our side gate and couldn't find anything suitable. We have everything ring in our household so this was a welcome addition and super easy to install. We had a repeated issue to begin with where it kept alerting us to a tamper issue but I suspect that was where it was tightly attached to the gate we've since used a different method of attachment and the problem has gone away. I love that this links to our home alarm system and it gives me comfort at night or when we are away that if anybody were to try to access our property using that gate we would be instantly alerted and hopefully they would be instantly scared away! As with all ring products it's super easy to install and add to your existing system and does exactly what it says on the tin. You could probably get something similar cheaper but at the end of the day you're paying for the reliability and the convenience that come with the ring products. Highly recommend Review: Perfect for the job - I bought this addition to my Ring alarm as we were experiencing people entering into our properties while we were sleeping and trying the car’s doors. It was a bit challenging to install using the screws as we wanted to install it on our metal gate, so we ended up using the adhesive. I could not be more pleased with it. It’s easy to setup and does the job perfectly. I have enjoyed looking at the face of the thief when she tried to open the gate and set off the alarm in the middle of the night. Watching here running away in shock was priceless. I would absolutely recommend this product if you have external doors or gates to monitor. My gate isn't closely fitting so not sure if this will work** A: Hi I am pretty sure you can have a 1 cm gap and it should still make a contact. hope this helps **Q: My garage is approx 60 meters away from my house will this contact sensor reach that far** A: It does state it will run up to 76m line of sight to the base station. Had some issues with range so had to use an extender but that's not a problem really - my main issue is that the plastic bracket that you mount this to seems to be a little bit flimsy. I had to buy a second due to some issues but then found I could fix it.
