A must-have for the two Chic-produced albums *by P***R on Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2021* Music: 4 stars; Economic value: 5 starsLet me state upfront that I am a casual fan of Sister Sledge at best, and that if it wasn't for their two albums made with/by and produced by Chic's Neil Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, I probably wouldn't have bothered. Anyway, I was browsing around for those two albums, and by happenstance I stumbled upon this instead. I had been looking to buy these two Chic-produced albums at some point and rather than just buying a Sister Sledge Greatest Hits, I decided to get this."Sister Sledge Original Album Series" (5 CDs; 47 tracks; 204 min.) kicks with with CD1, the 1975 debut album "Circle of Love" (9 tracks; 34 min.). CD2 is the 1977 release "Together" (12 tracks; 48 min.) CD3 is the first of the Chic albums, the 1979 release "We Are Family" (8 tracks; 43 min.), and which contains besides the obvious hits (title track; "He's The Greatest Dancer"_ another gem like "Thinking Of You". CD4 is the second and last of the Chic albums, the 1980 release "Love Somebody Today" (8 tracks; 39 min.), and which contains besides the obvious hits (title track; "Reach Your Peak") also a very nice gem in "Pretty Baby". CD5 is the 1981 release "All-American Girls", an attempt (in vain) to continue the Chic sound without the actual Chic guys involved.What is amazing about the two Chic-produced Sister Sledge albums, is that when you listen to them, it's basically impossible to tell them apart from the actual Chic albums of that era. Really, for all practical purposes, those ARE Chic albums, with guest vocals from Sister Sledge. I simply love these albums, and rate both of them a close to perfect 5 stars. If you are, like me, a huge fan of Chic, you really need to add these 2 albums to your collection. This 5 CD compilation sells at an incredible fan-friendly price (less than 3 bucks per CD), so this purchase is a no-brainer for any Sister Sledge or Chic fan... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love Somebody Today *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2015* I bought this set for the mere reason I don't have the two CD's that the Sisters recorded after their big break CD. I am a big fan Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards. These two producers help the ladies become stars with the album We Are Family. They produce the Sisters next album, Love Somebody Today. I enjoy that CD. After play the CD All American Girls, I realize I really like this CD the best. WHY? It really reflected the music of that time. Less disco-y and more funk. I cant stop playing All American Girls. I also like how on AAG, the first few songs are mixed together. Which reminds me of Donna Summer's Once Upon a Time and other Donna albums that are one continues song....I wish more record companies would re-release artists CD's in a set like this. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally! Sister Sledge: The boxed set *by T***Y on Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2019* Sister Sledge was one of my favorite groups of the eighties. Very talented but highly underrated, the sisters should have had more success than they did but the music business can be very unpredictable. However, I'm thrilled to finally have a box set of their music on CD. Also, it's nice that each CD is packaged in its own sleeve with the original album covers.
