There's a lot of themes around school life and city life in Japan and as someone who hopes to go there one day I'm hoping to live through the lenses of the mcs (even though I'm sure Japan is much different irl) The colors and animation of this anime are really fun, whimsical, and will be sure to get you hooked if you enjoy cute things like myself I'll get into what I love and don't love about the characters here. The mc (Umaru) wears a mask of perfection while at school and is a goofy but extremely lazy bum at home. I feel horrible for her big brother for all the stuff he has to deal with once she's home but their dynamic is really fun. I like all of the dynamics of the characters at some point of the series. However I hated Kirie in the first episode she appeared in but she has also grown on me overtime. I'm usually someone who hates anime tropes with a passion (which is kinda strange considering I started watching this series) but they have some charm outside of their tropes in an episode or two. If you feel a bit annoyed at some of the characters at first like I did maybe give a few more episodes a chance and see if they grow on you as at the start of the show for me I found most of them annoying until figuring out more about them. Quality of the Blu-ray is great and looks as good as any other anime Blu ray I've purchased. I'd say color wise this (out of everything I've watched so far) is similar to No Game No Life (besides the red line art). I will say this show is a lot more family appropriate than No Game No Life and I feel like this show can be shown to younger audiences while still appealing to adults like myself. There is a Japanese dub with English subtitle option, English dub, and (something I find extremely unique on anime dvds/blu rays) the Japanese voice actors commentating on the episodes (this one I'd recommend after watching the series and getting familiarized with it) I know this review was long but I wanted to get into what I personally enjoyed and enjoyed less about the show and while this isn't a 10/10 anime it was something nice to try since I usually tend to tread towards darker shows like Re:Zero, Made In Abyss, and Summertime Rendering.
