I actually sent mine back: not because I couldn't get into it, but because it's really poorly designed. The 'spinner top' doesn't spin freely and the string ends-up wrapping itself around the pole. Maybe do yourself a favour and just return it. The next model up (it's got a black case) is much better and still OK for young kids and adults too.. **Q: Is the pole made of plastic?** A: I’m not sure as I returned it. The pole isn’t the problem with this product; it’s the spinner top that doesn’t work. I would recommend that you don’t buy it as it’s useless.
