I really don't want to leave the outside faucet on all the time.** A: I would buy the deluxe kit so that with A 5/16 drill bit and the included reservoir bulkhead connectors, any sturdy container can then easily become a resevoir. Also can be bought seperately. The faucet is the set it and forget it water supply. You do not want these Blumat sensors to run dry or they will need to be re-"primed" to function correctly. A blue or light-proof barrel or tub elevated a couple feet over the gardens blumat waterers will provide the 1-2 psi water pressure required to function. **Q: does anyone use organic nutes with this system? if so is their a line that is less problematic?** A: I use Age Old Organics with mine and I know someone who even uses molasses. I think it's not so much which kind but how much. And the issue is more algae and biofilm growing in the water rather than the nutrients. It's important not to let light get in the reservoir or those things can really grow fast. **Q: If you were using this system indoors with fabric pot, will indivduals pot trays keep my floor safe from any runoff from the system overwatering ?** A: I use these with fabric pots, and when the Blumats are properly dialed in the pots get a bit damp to the touch, but there's no/very little runoff. They keep the medium consistently damp rather than draining to waste. Pot trays are a good idea anyway though - if you leave a knob on one of the Blumats too loose you might drain the entire reservoir overnight, probably want to catch that in something. But assuming they are properly adjusted, you will have little to no runoff. **Q: Does this come with a blumat shut-off valve?** A: There is a kit like this that includes a shut-off valve, an extra reservoir adapter, and fittings so you can make a continuous loop systems with purge valve on the end.
