Review: GREAT book. - Great little book, very concise and clear. No gaps in logic/mathematics/physical formulations where they may arise. I bought it for self study, but admittedly I already had a background in PDE. Assumes knowledge of Calc 1-3 and some experience with ODE is preferred, but there is an appendix that goes over how to solve first and second order ODE. You will learn all the basic (applied) terminology that you won't get in a typical PDE book that's not applied or for scientists and engineers. It goes over pretty much everything that an elementary PDE book should. I think the section on Separation of Variables is a little short, but you get the idea. I will buy another copy of this book as my copy is a little damaged now.

Great little book, very concise and clear. No gaps in logic/mathematics/physical formulations where they may arise. I bought it for self study, but admittedly I already had a background in PDE.
