Review: Great piece of Pink Floyd history with much improved video. - This is a great remastering of the Pulse concert from 1994. I saw them on this tour in Raleigh back in the day. I had the original Pulse concert which had great music but the video was crap. With the poor low light sensitivity of the standard definition cameras used at the time, it was almost unwatchable. They decided to shoot it on video to save some $ because the lazer light shows were so expensive to produce. Anyway, if you realize what they had to work with, the remastered video is pretty good. The audio is good too but I had to add a little bass boost for my taste. My system is just stereo so I can't say how good the surround mix is but the stereo track is uncompressed pcm and is excellent. I love that they play the full dark side of the moon album as it really is a great album sometimes being overshadowed by the wall. The extra disc has the concert put to the videos displayed on stage during the concert...I'd rather watch the band myself. Of course, they are without Roger Waters who is a better writer than performer I think. The packaging it deluxe with a booklet full of pictures with the blinking light on the side of the package, although my light never blinked at all. As long as you understand this isn't widescreen 4k video, I think its a great pice of Pink Floyd history presented as well as it can be. Enjoy.
