I'm a graphic designer and a first time mom. I wanted to design a unique memory book for my son but soon I realized that this is just never going to happen because of how busy life with a baby has become (a deep bow to parents with more than one kid)!So I set off to look for a memory book online and after looking at 15-20 options this one appealed the most to me.- I love the fact that you can add a few pages at the end, if needed;- The paper of the pages is nice thickness, and is matte so writing and glueing stuff will be easy;- The graphics are cute and gender neutral and won't overpower the photos;- The pouch at the end of the book is extendable (look at the photo I attached) so you can fit some small memorabilia there, such as the soft padded hospital bracelets, for example;- The box that the book comes in can be used to store your book and can also fit your baby's Birth Announcement, Birth Certificate, etc. It holds up to size 9.5" x 11.25" which is bigger than the standard letter size; I had those separately but I wanted to keep all of my son's stuff together;- The cover is really thick and sturdy; it is covered in paper but the paper is coated to you should be able to wipe off any minor smudges should they happen;- There is an inkpad that comes with the book (not the case for most books I looked at);- The prompts are nice and short but cover the most essential "firsts" and importants things to remember. I list this as an advantage because I'm not the journaling type. My son is 2 mo old and I can still go back and remember the likes and dislikes and interesting memory of when he was newborn and a month old.Overall, I'm glad I picked this book. I was nervous not being able to get the feel of the paper, cover, and the weight, since my job is to know those things before I work on a project, but when I got the book I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was better than expected. I've done my fair share of researching of baby books, looking for the right one to capture the memories of my first -- it was really important to me.This books fits all the "requirements" and then some – the content is interesting and well-placed and the design is both functional and GORGEOUS!!! I really love the design, it's colorful without going over the top, and it's gender-neutral – not just pink for girls and blue for boys.The look of the book is just excellent – I can't stop raving about it! The colors are great and the way the pages are designed and wording spaced looks really good. One of the best things about the design – there's enough room for photos. I don't have to cut or crop them because there's enough space for an entire photo (or two) on a page. I didn't find another baby book like this! Also, love that the family tree is not actually a family "tree" – it stands out from the other more conventional baby books.About content -- All the firsts are great of course – there are even some I didn't think of. There's a page for mom and dad's love story and wedding, which I like. Pages for holidays. Enough spaces (lines) to write down the memories and still room for huge photos. And the memories go up to age 5!The book would have been great on its own -- and then it had extras! I loved getting the book as a gift in the stylish gift box. The inkpad that came with the book was easier to use than I thought it would be and it did not make a mess. The back of the book had an envelope for baby keepsakes. It looks like it may have just been a manufacturing issue with my specific product.***original***I really love the overall design of this product. It’s adorable and is mostly to be used for pictures with minimal space for writing (who has time for that?!?). I loved the cartoon feel and you can tell a lot of effort has gone into thinking about those special “first” moments and how to present them.My only issue with ours is that the timeline seems to be off - I’m not sure if this is a common issue, or is a flaw when building our specific book, but I sadly think it makes the book a little messy. We have space for months 1-5 and then it changes to go backwards from 1 year to 6 months, and then switches up again to show birthdays 2 years to 5 years in the correct order - it’s just a little confusing and nonsensical.
