They are sticky, so will absolutely stay in place if you pull both sticky tabs and place them that way. On some furniture, I just pulled the top or bottom tabs (not both) and they’ve stayed stuck. If you have a kiddo that likes to pull at things and take them off, definitely use both sides. They won’t come off unless you want them to. Super easy to install. Not an “invisible” look.
