It's just a knob to turn the ignition. Speed6 has a keyless entry card, so as long as it's on you, it just turns. If you don't have the key card, or if the battery in the keycard is dead, or if the keycard is boned, you'll need to pop this out and use the actual key (stored in the keycard) to start the car.
