This tool is not complicated, but if you’ve never used a particular tool before it always helps to see it in action to demystify how best to use it. Note to vendor, a short/simple instructional video with tips would be a nice addition. The handle that comes with the tool worked well to get things started (e.g., seating the tool’s threads into the threads of the shutoff valve’s compression nut and then working the compression ring off the copper pipe a bit), but once the compression ring reached a certain point on the pipe it became difficult to turn the tool’s handle (was hard to get the leverage / torque needed to keep things moving). Per another reviewer’s suggestion I removed the included handle and used a short screw driver as a handle (I used a Torx screwdriver, but a Phillips head would have worked just as well). It gave me the leverage I needed to keep turning the tool to move the compression ring along the pipe until it popped off. There was no damage or deformity in the pipes afterwards. Good tool and recommend.
