With all the equipment turned on, the temperature in the rack quickly climbs to over 90 degrees. The equipment rack is recessed into a closet under a set of stairs, so goal was to activate the fan to pull warm air out as soon as the temperature rose to 80 degrees at the top of the rack. With the controller, it can be set to automatically and progressively increase fan speed after the temperature hits the target. Every 2 degrees after the target the fan can increase speed by 1 step. PROs: > Very quiet at fan speed 1 and 2. At 10, this fan pushes a lot of air. > Controller allows multiple control options - I just needed the high temperature option > Easy to install with the mounting plate - I got this mounted and installed in under 30 minutes. > Fan direction can easily be changed. Review: The lil fan that does - I'm disabled, so dont have an income that allows me to do much. But I can afford ac infinity items, because you need only purchase them once, and they do what they are advertised to do. I've purchased AC Infinity products, now, for several months, 3 gallon grow bags, the 4" inclined fan and controller, air plates, and several other of theyer fans to control the small closet I've turned into my grow room. I will get self watering systems, soon hopefully, but ac infinity does all the work for me, and soon all I'll have to do is watch them grow. I still plan on getting the 2x2 tent they offer, soon, and will gett more fans, still, and a dry tent. Theyer products are exceptionaly made, quiet, and energy efficient. Im not a professional grower, but AC Infinity, makes me feel like I'm on the right path, with the choices I've made. This product has had two improvements since... one is that the fan is now running on a 24v motor, and the CFM is now measured at 205 (improved from a 12v motor at 152cfm). As for noise, I don't think the decibel rating has changed as it is still quiet. The second improvement is much more recent (Decemenr 2018) and was made to the controller unit which now includes humidity control as well as temperature. **Q: Would it work to install this fan through the house wall so that I can bring the cool, outdoor evening air indoors without having the windows open.** A: I've had this idea for 20 years and just never got around to it. First, this is about 200 cfm. Is 200 cfm enough to cause a temp difference. You would think so especially when the temp outside is 64 degrees and the temp inside is 75 degrees. I had a window fan and I was trying to draw cold air from one side of the house by setting the window fan to blow air outside on the otherside of the house. It was a double fan. I had all the windows open about 4 inches. I could not cool my house down. I personally don't want to go to sleep with all the windows in my house open. This little 4inch fan my work ok in one room provided you were circulating the air correctly. Pumping air into a room creates positive pressure so you would have to vent that room to allow the air to leave that room at the same time. Two or three of these or maybe four depending on the size of the house could possibly allow one to circulate enough air to cause a significant temp change. If not then there are larger units. My plan is to use several 8 inch units placed in a central location in the attic and create vents in each room connected to the outside and then to the central fan which would exhaust to the outside or simply in the attic which is vented to the outside. **Q: Can this fan be used to draw radon gas out of my basement if exhasted outside?** A: I am using this for a radon fan. The radon numbers were in the 60s before the fan. After installing it, we have dropped down to 2-7 range. I'm going to add a second one and forgot get the binders to the same area of 0-2. **Q: Can the T4 be mounted vertically?** A: Yes. While the instructions don't make it very clear, you definitely can. Mine has been mounted vertically for two months and working perfectly. I use it to cool an entertainment cabinet.
