**Q: I am looking for a motor that stops and starts for a hanging double helix. Is this one like that? There’s not enough explanation for me to know.**
A: Thanks for your interest. This is intended to use with a hanging double helix mobile. To maximize batter life, it operates in pulses—it runs for a moment, spins for a while and pulses again after a minute or so. Hope this helps!

**Q: There are such mixed reviews on this product and I am unsure what else to consider. Has anyone found another motor that works better for their Helix?**
A: Thanks for your interest. Most of the time these motors work great. Occasionally our customers get a faulty motor, and we gladly replace faulty ones within the first six months of purchase. Hope that helps!

**Q: What is the approximate rrpm for this motor?  Thanks**
A: It is not that simple.  It rotates in spurts like 4 revolutions in one second, then waits 2 minutes, while the Helix winds up and then unwinds in waves. It is very soothing to watch.  I have bought 3 motors.  Original one lasted years, next one lasted 6-8 months, now we will see.

I actually need to find the time to return this item. It seems to be fine - but the button to turn it on and off is on the very top and in order to use it - we need a step ladder. Not very convenient to use for a baby mobile.

I searched for this type of orbiter for some time. It stops and starts which creates different visual effects. Very nice. Battery life is several months for continuous use.

### ⭐ Not for a dancing helix

I purchased this to replace the motor for my Dancing Helix. It doesn't work as well as the original motor mainly because it only generates one short pulse every minute. The old motor had a longer "on" cycle that kept the helix spinning and generated much better patterns. It may be that this motor is not strong enough for the larger-sized Dancing Helix mobiles.
