Here are the steps you can follow: Turn off the air conditioning system: Before starting any work on the air conditioning vents, make sure to turn off the system to avoid any accidents. Remove the old vent cover: To remove the old vent cover, use a flathead screwdriver to pry it off the ceiling gently. Be careful not to damage the surrounding tiles or the vent itself. Measure the size of the new vent cover: Using a measuring tape, measure the size of the new vent cover you want to install. This will help you determine the size of the opening you need to cut in the PVC tile. Mark the cutting area: Using a pencil or a marker, mark the area on the PVC tile where you need to make the cut. Make sure to double-check the measurements before cutting to avoid any mistakes. Cut the opening: Using a jigsaw or a hole saw, carefully cut out the marked area on the PVC tile. Start from the center of the marked area and work your way outwards. Take your time to ensure a clean and precise cut. Test the fit: Once you've cut the opening, test the fit of the new vent cover. If it doesn't fit properly, use a file or sandpaper to smooth the edges until the cover fits snugly. Install the new vent cover: Once the new vent cover fits properly, insert it into the opening on the ceiling. Use screws or clips to secure it in place. Turn on the air conditioning system: Finally, turn on the air conditioning system and check to make sure that the new vent cover is functioning properly and that there are no leaks or drafts. Remember always to work carefully and slowly when cutting and reinstalling air conditioning vents, especially if you are dealing with PVC tiles that are not flat. **Q: How many square feet** A: Hi there, 12 tiles covering 48 sq.ft **Q: For a new build. Do you need drywall under the tile for the ceiling or can you attach it to the beams on the ceiling?** A: You need drywall to install it. **Q: Will this melt if installed as a backsplash in the kitchen, including behind a standard N. American range?** A: We installed this product last year as a drop in ceiling tile. I would NOT use in a kitchen as a backsplash. I believe it would melt and would be extremely difficult to clean. ## Frequently Bought Together - Art3d Drop Ceiling Tiles 24x24 in Black (12-Pack, 48 Sq.ft), 3D Wainscoting Panels Glue Up 2x2 - Art3d Smoothing Tool Kit for Applying Peel and Stick Wallpaper, Vinyl Backsplash Tile --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ae/products/420722299-12-pack-waterproof-3d-drop-ceiling-tiles-24-x-24](https://www.desertcart.ae/products/420722299-12-pack-waterproof-3d-drop-ceiling-tiles-24-x-24) --- *Product available on Desertcart United Arab Emirates* *Store origin: AE* *Last updated: 2026-10-07*
