It is a great body wash, and it also is a nice shampoo that cleans hair without over drying it. Like many, I recently was diagnosed with contact dermatitis. I have allergies to a few fragrances (etc limonene and linalool) and to phenyl salicylate. I was given a standard “safe list,” although I have found that not every listed shampoo/body wash on it is safe for me. This product was great! Absolutely no rash or irritation with use. It has a nice smell, which is a very light green apple-like smell. It is NOT perfumed at all, but it does smell very fresh and pleasant. Best of all is that it feels creamy, but it rinses off the skin and scalp smoothly. It is the only fragrance free shampoo that I have tried so far that does not strip or knot up your hair. You hair will be soft after use! It is definitely smooth enough for thick and ethnic/black hair, and it is the best so far out of all the ones I have tried from my safe list. I am anxious to now try the conditioner! Didn't smell "moldy" like some people have said, and made my hair pretty soft. However, back then (2 years ago) I paid about $20 for a bottle of this stuff and I thought that was steep. Now the price has risen ~50% since then to the point where it is definitely not worth it anymore. You definitely do not get a lot with this and it may last you a month or two at most. If you're fine with paying $30 every 2 months for something as basic as shampoo, be my guest.
