Review: Perfect Fit for Sentry Safe 24 Gun Safe - I have a 2005 era 24 gun safe from Sentry Safe. It is model # GV8526-2ST and was originally purchased from Walmart. I lost the "master code" and was unable to reprogram the original lock. Because of its age, it did not have the red reprogramming button and Sentry Safe had no owners manual for it. I am thrilled to share that this was a near direct replacement for what I needed. It took me about an hour to swap everything out. I'll report back if the equipment fails, but for the foreseeable future, I'm good to go!

This was a replacement for the original keypad on my safe, which fit the mechanical spec perfectly. It worked for about two weeks, then the solenoid stopped working!!! I was forced to break into my own safe to retrieve my valuables. The safe is now recycling material. If I did not have the foresight to disable the anti-theft failsafe inside the door before installing this bad product, I would not been able crack the safe to retrieve my stuff. DO NOT buy this product, unless you want your valuables stuck in the safe. Find a suitable replacement that uses a key as a backup failsafe when the solenoid fails.
