It is soft and pliable and doesn't have any burrs or flaws that might scratch your skin. I do not like the "cloth" side because liquid makeup absorbs into it creating waste therefore should probably be used for buffing only. The silicone side does not absorb so there is no waste. However, there is a learning curve in judging how much to apply and how to effectively blend. this would be great for makeup artists to use. However, after a lifetime of applying liquid foundation I still haven't found anything as efficient as using my fingertips.
