Second person said they would send a new lock if we hired a bonded locksmith to remove the lock. I asked if they would pay for the locksmith. He couldn't answer this until he spoke with his supervisor. From reading a previous review I don't expect much so I will bring my Dremel and cut the cable then try pliers to remove the lock from the laptop and WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER KENSINGTON PRODUCT AGAIN! If I could have given this a rating of ZERO stars I would have. UPDATE - Finally heard back from Kensington Technical Customer Support. They "admitted" the tumblers can become jammed if turned too many times and the keyed lock is much more reliable. They offered to reimburse us up to $80 to have a locksmith remove it from my son's laptop, however, by that time he had removed it himself by taking a pair of pliers and squeezing the release button. As these locks can be removed so quickly and easily with readily available tools, it gives the uninformed a false sense of security.
